I have just begun to look over the Leibbrandt family tree on the website. It certainly is excellent--so much detail, so much hard work involved. Just wanted to bring to your attention, some corrections and additional facts.

My father in law, Gottlieb Leibbrandt was born on July 30, not June 30.

His son, Georg, now George, born October 23, 1937 in Berlin, Germany is my husband and my maiden name was Martha Cecily Coventry Clarke, not Marta Clarka, as on the website. Our children, one of whom you recently emailed, are, in order,

Dr. Martha Elisabeth Irene Leibbrandt,

born February 9, 1965 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada;

George Alexander Leibbrandt,

born September 9, 1967 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada and

Sylvia Margaret Victoria Leibbrandt,

born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada on April 15, 1969.

Hope this information is useful.

Best regards,

Martha Leibbrandt, Sr.

Dear Hans,

Whoops! My husband, George, is Dr. George Leibbrandt and he is (full)

Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University

of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario, Canada--not in Ottawa as you have in your

record.

His brother, Wolfram and family live in Hull, Quebec, which is just

across the river from Ottawa! I forgot to mention also that my

brother-in-law, Wolfram Leibbrandt and Elizabeth (Betty) have three

children, Kevin, Scott and Christina.

I want to be sure of their birthdatesand middle names, so will contact the parents and get the info correctbefore getting back to you. Cheers!

Martha Leibbrandt, Sr.

Dear Hans,

My apologies for sending you information in clumps! I forgot to mention--how dreadful!--my grandchildren! My son, George Alexander Leibbrandt and his wife Maria Antonia (Antoinette) née Cerato have a son, Sephton Alexander, born October 27, 1996 and my daughter, Dr. Martha Elisabeth Irene Leibbrandt and her husband, Chris Atkinson, have a daughter Evelyn Coventry Ruth, born October 1, 1998--and they have another on the way, due in June of this year.

By the by, Martha Jr. got her B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Western Ontario.

Our son, George has a B.A. and Bachelor of Education degrees from the University of Toronto, taught for a time in the Toronto school system and is now mid-way through his requirements to becoming a lawyer. He is enrolled in the faculty of law school at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.

Sylvia Margaret Victoria, our youngest, has a Honours degree in Russian and German from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Following that she was chosen to participate in a German government-sponsored program, teaching English for a year to German students in a high school near Dusseldorf. She then went to McGill University in Montreal where she obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Social Work. She has worked as a professional in this field since then, but recently won a graduate fellowship to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where, for the next four years, she will pursue a Ph.D. in social work.

My husband, George received his B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from McMaster University. (I obtained a B.A. in Honours English and History there--that's where we met.) George then went to McGill where he earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in theoretical physics.

This, just for your information, if you think it is useful.

Cheers, again.

Martha Leibbrandt, Sr.
