Dear Webling Parent,

Your child has expressed interest in applying for our Junior Police Officer (JPO) program. Our JPO program is important to Webling Elementary School. The JPOs provide an important service to the school in monitoring campus behavior expectations and assisting safety before and after school for students. Please review the following requirements with your child and complete the information ion below.

JPO Requirements:

  • The JPOs participate in the following activities during the school year: Leadership Activities, Rising Star Assembly Performance, Evacuation Drill, and the HPD Drill Competition in the spring.
  • JPOs are divided into two squads and are on duty every other week. Report times for duty are 7:30AM and 2:05PM daily, except on Wednesdays. Wednesdays report time is 7:25AM and 12:20PM. JPOs on duty must wear covered shoes, blue, black or khaki shorts/pants, and Webling t-shirt. In addition JPOs are also required to participate in drill practice once a week during morning recess from 9:30AM -9:45AM.
  • If a JPO is unable to maintain or be a good role model/student leader, s/he will be given a strike. If a student accumulates 3 strikes in a quarter then s/he is released from the program. Parents will be notified by phone or email regarding if student is released from the program.
  • We will be having training for returning and new JPOs prior to the 2015-2015 school year at Webling School (meet at front office) from. All JPOs are required to attend. JPOs will be given their squad assignments, important information/procedures, and JPO drill basics.
