The Hopkins Education Foundation (HEF) will host its Royal Bash‘One Night Only’ on February 27, 2016, at The Metropolitan in Golden Valley. The event is the single largest fundraiser for the non-profit, which to date has enriched Hopkins Public Schools with $2.4 Million in more than 350 grants for pilot projects and curricular enhancements.

Emcee for the event is Kim Campbell, Dean of Students and teacher at Hopkins West Junior High, founder and coordinator of SOAR - a program for first generation college goers, and a consultant for the Association of Middle Level Learners. Ms. Campbell is a dynamic, humorous performer who engages audiences with interaction and song. As a previous recipient of HEF grants and a former HEF board member, Campbell is excited at the chance to give back to the Foundation.

Royal Bash attendees will enjoy dancing to Swag, the popular contemporary rock cover band, dinner by D’Amico, games, prizes, Live and Silent Auctions, and decadent desserts. Mobile bidding adds a new component to the Bash this year, allowing guests to use their own smart phones or tablets to bid throughout the silent auction.

A special Royal Reception for high-levelBash sponsors and their guestswill feature open bar and butler passed hors d’oeuvres, music by Dark and Stormy, and ample opportunity to socialize.

Since 1995, Hopkins Education Foundation (HEF) has enriched education in the Hopkins Schools. The non-profit foundation, independent from Hopkins School District 270, is dedicated to providing resources for educational innovations and enhancements for the success ofHopkins students. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

The Foundation is supported entirely through community contributions, including:

  • parents and other community members
  • corporate contributions
  • fundraising events and projects
  • gifts of stock, cash and securities
  • a beneficiary of wills and estates

Twice each year, grant applications from Hopkins teachers and staff are evaluated by the Board. Funds are allocated to programs at individual schools as well as to pilot projects that can be tested for incorporation throughout the District.
