Vote for Revision of Standing Rules

o  Standing Rule Changes:

§  Motion to amend Standing Rule #5.

·  Current Rule: “The sum of $7,700.00 minimum shall be turned over from each board to its successor, if cultural arts events are scheduled in the first quarter of the school year. In the event of excess funds, an Excess Funds/Unanticipated Funds Committee consisting of the co-presidents ways and means chair, treasurer, principal and any others as deemed necessary, be formed for the purpose of determine the disbursement and allocation of excess funds. A report will be submitted to the association for voter approval.”

·  Proposed Rule Change: “The sum of $5,000.00 minimum shall be turned over from each board to its successor, if cultural arts events are scheduled in the first quarter of the school year. p  Committee Reports

o  Manna ( Orders due 30th) – Yukari Lofton (not in attendance)- orders are due on May 30

o  Newsletter – Jennifer Czerak - (not in attendance) Submissions are due on Wednesday, May 7th

o  Yearbook – Gail Evans Jennifer Encisco (not in attendance) year books will arrive May 20th. Suggested that they be labeled for each child

o  Field Day – Sonya Castella and Sherri Lamerand –

§  Volunteer sign up will be online again

§  Lunch will be shortened from 1 ½ hours for all grades rotation to 1 hour all grades rotation

§  No water bottles this year; Bouncy course will be included

o  Cultural Arts – Kristi Svec & Mika Kern

§  Chicago Percussion Quintet will be coming for an all-school assembly on May 21st. The program will be “Percussion Around the World”. K-3 will take place from 9:30-10:10 and grades 4-6 from 10:20-11:00. Parents are welcome. PM Kindergarten can attend, if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

o  Box Tops – Chris Menk

§  $1,048.00 was brought in for this year

§  Best to have a goal for box tops and innovative contests to engage kids participation

§  Zen Wang won an Award of Excellence at the National Level
