Dear Mustang Families- The staff at Morse are proud to again share our plans for an exciting summer that combines, community building, fun and great books! Our school received a grant that allowed us to purchase a great selection of high interest books for our students to read during the summer! It’s our plan to combine the best of Morse into one night a week to keep our community connected all summer long! We surveyed our families on their interests and needs for summer connection and this is what we learned-
Morse “Summer Nights” will run every WEDNESDAY evening from 6:00-7:30PM and feature:
FREE book exchange with our Morse READS books that ALL students will receive from our summer lending library before school ends! (bring back books that you’ve read and trade them in for some new books to read!)
We’ll open FREE food pantry to our community to offer both non perishable (boxed, canned) and FRESH food including fruit and bread! We’ll also offer some household supplies and personal care items. Our food pantry will be open to ALL families in need during “Summer Nights” !
Each week will also feature a FREE fun community building activity for our kids (and us parents too!) to enjoy! We hope you’ll consider joining us as we keep the great community that is Morse going all summer long!
SUMMER NIGHTS 2017 (Tentative Schedule of Events)
Week One: WEDNESDAY June 21st— KICK off summer- and get cooking! Come and make a yummy loaf of bread to bake at home, and enjoy an ice cream dessert and get social with us! SPONSORED BY-
Week Two: WEDNESDAY June 28th- Water Fun! Come and enjoy some old fashioned water fun! Water balloons, games and all things water! Bring a towel and plan to get WET! SPONSORED BY-
Week Three: WEDNESDAY July 5th- Come and participate in our school wide family game night! Old fashioned games (kickball or marbles anyone?) and board games too! SPONSORED BY-
Week Four: WEDNESDAY July 12th- Art Night with Mrs. Myre- We’ll be making a variety of nature inspired art tonight- join the fun and get creative! SPONSORED BY-
Week Five: WEDNESDAY July 19th- Math Night! Come and play Math Games with your family, learn more about how to make Math fun with the Morse Staff! SPONSORED BY-
Week Six: WEDNESDAY July 26th- Tonight, let your students be creative with Maker space! SPONSORED BY-
Week Seven: WEDNESDAY August 2nd – This is a kids only Garage sale! Have you kids gather up toys/ books/ crafts to sell or trade with other kids! It’s a free cycle of the best kind! SPONSORED BY-
Week Eight: WEDNESDAY August 9th- COOKING for Families! Come and learn how to make a summer vegetable salad that even the picky kids will like! Take home some salad for your family! SPONSORED BY-
Week Nine: WEDNESDAY August 16th- PTO Game Night Join our Morse PTO for some fun and family games! SPONSORED BY- MORSE PTO
Week Ten: WEDNESDAY August 23rd- Help summer settle down with an outdoor dinner and movie night! Have some dinner with us and catch a free family movie with your family in our gym! SPONSORED BY-
Week Eleven: WEDNESDAY August 30th- Meet and Greet the Morse Staff for the 17-18 school year!
