  • What is an Academic Integrity Ambassador?
  • The Academic Integrity Ambassador program is a student leadership program aimed at promoting academic integrity through student-led initiatives.
  • Ambassadors will have the opportunity to developvaluable career skills and experience in areas such as public speaking, marketing, networking and event coordination. Participation in the program will also be reflected on the Co-Curricular Record, and a letter of recommendation may be provided upon request.
  • Students will have the opportunity to work closely with Student Advocacy staff, shadow a Student Advocate, and learn about U of M policy and procedures related to academic integrity.
  • What does an Academic Integrity Ambassador do?
  • Ambassadors will develop strategies and materials for marketing and promotion of academic integrity at the U of M, create/deliveryworkshops and presentations, plan and coordinate events, and liaise with departments, faculties, and students to determine academic integrity challenges and needs.
  • Volunteers will be accepted for one of the following positions:
  • Marketing and Promotions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with social media and metrics
  • An eye for visuals and preferably experience with design/marketing
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Event Planning & Coordination
  • Event planning experience necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Outreach & Student Liaison
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort approaching new people
  • Ability to form relationships and adapt to new situations
  • Public speaking skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Educational Programming
  • Experience with creating presentations and written/visual materials
  • Interest and/or experience with research
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Public speakingskills

Eligibility:

Applicants must

  • have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours of coursework at the U of M before September 2018.
  • submit a resume and participate in a selection interview.
  • be available to commit time on a weekly basis throughout September-April, as required by their roles/tasks. During October (Academic Integrity Month), there would be an expectation of more hours/week to coordinate or facilitate events and activities.
