Christmas Tree Sale
Our annual Christmas Tree Sale began on Friday, November 25th and is going well. The preparation for the sale at our new location went well thanks to all the members who helped. Our lot is next to Bank Mutual on the corner of 8th and Main Ave. in W. De Pere. Since we have very nice trees again this year, our inventory will not last long. We would appreciate very much if you would consider buying your Christmas tree from usand encourageyour friends and neighbors to do the same. All the profits from the sale help us meet the charitable needs of the less fortunate in our community--especially those who are seriously ill or homeless. Finally, and most importantly, please pray for our success in this endeavor. Prayers always make things go easier and we certainly need that at this time. We have a good supply of Fraser, Canaan andBalsam Fir trees.
And most importantly come and buy a tree from us and tell your friends to do the same as all the profits go to help those in need. PLEASE SEE THE ENCLOSED FLYER.
HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Congratulations to James Harrigan, Bill Diedrick and Henry Nooyen for reaching Life Membership in the Knights of Columbus. Thanks for your service!
CHAPLAIN’S CORNER
Dear Brother Knights,
I am Binu Varghese O. Praem, the associate Pastor in East De Pere Churches of St. Mary’s and St. Francis Xavier, who succeeded Fr. Judah Pigon MF this July.
I am glad I am able to address you through this medium of newsletter “Knight Lites”
At the very outset, allow me to express my happiness over being invited to the K of C, Abbot Pennings Council # 3955 and for considering me for Chaplain of the Council. I consider it an honor and privilege to be part of this group of ‘faith-filled men in action’.
Since, I had not been part of this Catholic association of Men in the past, I am a novice to the Council!. But, I have the confidence that in the days ahead, I will find myself a proud Knight in your Council with your support and encouragement. I am to receive my First Degree this December officially, and am truly waiting for the event. I am looking forward to welcoming other candidates who will receive the First Degree this December, with me.
Hard to believe, it’s yet another Christmas Season! We have already begun the new liturgical year! We are in the season of Advent! There are Preparations underway world over to welcome Christmas this year! We are also busy with preparations for this Great event of Our Lord’s Birth. True to our identity as faith-filled men in action, we believe that our preparations for Christmas are not merely for us to celebrate, but also to help others to experience the joy of Christmas. We make efforts in helping the people and families that are financially struggling to celebrate Christmas. This is the true meaning of Christmas! Our Christmas tree sale that began on November, 25 is one of such efforts. Let us remain bonded together and committed to live up to the objectives of our Foundation, whenever, wherever that is possible!
Wishing you all grace-filled and joyful Christmas 2016 and a Prosperous New Year 2017!
Fraternally,
Binu Varghese O. Praem

GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE
Brother Knights,
This is such a busy time for our council. Christmas Trees, Resch Center, Lambeau Ticket Scanning, Pro-Life, Poster Contest etc. I want to thank all of the Brother Knights and family members who volunteered to support our council this year. Our community is so blessed to have the Abbot Pennings Council on their side, doing wonderful and inspiring works of goodwill.
I’d also like to thank all of the chairmen of our programs. It takes a great deal or effort and time to run all the important programs in our council.
I wish all of you a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year.
