We are very sorry to have to say goodbye to Dr Northover. Her husband has been offered a consultancy post in the south and therefore the family have had to relocate. This has all happened incredibly quickly, because she is obviously keen to have her children in their new schools for September. Dr Northover has really enjoyed working here and will miss the patients at the practice a great deal.

If you have seen Dr Joshi recently, you may have noticed that she is expecting her second child. She is due in early November and therefore her last working day is going to be mid-October. She will be back at the practice next June.

With these changes in mind, unfortunately, it has been decided, that we will be unable to provide appointments after 6:30pm or on Saturday mornings, over the winter. We have a new GP, Dr Farheen Ghafoor, who will be taking on Dr Northover’s sessions, and helping to cover Dr Joshi’s maternity leave. However, we are concerned that if we commit to these additional sessions, it may be at the expense of the core service that you receive. There have also been changes made to the way that we need to provide our extended hours appointments, that we feel would be undue pressure on our staff, over what could be a difficult winter.

We plan to start these sessions again in April and would appreciate your feedback on when they should be held; early morning, late evening or Saturday mornings. Please email any feedback to our practice manager, Fiona, at .

We apologise for any inconvenience that this change has caused and we remain committed to trying to offer you the best service possible.

We have recently implemented a new system for you to give us informal feedback. This does not replace the complaints system, but is for people who want to comment on an element of the service, positive or negative, but do not want to make a formal complaint. Our receptionists will be able to give you more information about this.

With best wishes, Dr Brian Bates
