1.  Welcome and introduction to the EIT project

Welcome speech and outlining the agenda of the meeting.

Vilte gave a presentation on project aims, target groups, EIT products, outcomes, certificate, disseminations materials and stages. Also, she was talking about financial regulations and project management.

The following discussions were held during Vilte’s presentation:

·  Since access to the online course lessons and tests will be available to both registered and non-registered users, it was decided that everyone should be allowed to take the exit test at the end of the course but only those that are registered in the database will be granted certificates. Phillipos recommended incorporating questions about the course structure in the exit exam in order to know if the exam taker followed the course.

·  Will the test system be designed so that all the tests are the same? Actually, the tests will be related to what was covered the week before and will include multiple choices, matching, writing tasks, open questions, filling in the gaps, open dialogs.

·  The EIT seems to be a very controlled learning tool. According to Alex, it should be modulised making it less strict in use meaning that for independent learners it should be possible to pick the materials they need and not to strictly follow weekly design. According to Vibeke, the tool with strict organization will be discouraging for some students, feeling they are behind therefore a suggestion was made to find other labels instead of days. However, this tool as it is was presented in the submitted application and it is not possible to change it now.

·  There should be an electronic log for every student to register which points they covered and which not for them to see where they should get back and also see the progress

·  Interface will be showing the structure and contents of the day. Then, a user will be able to choose the topics he or she needs.

·  The tool will contain material for printing (handouts needed for communicative skills development). Materials should be downloaded and put on the site.

Andrzej presented needs analysis.

The following discussions were held during presentation:

·  European frame work for languages is A1-C2 while A1-A2 is a basic user. The course targets at elementary group that covered A1 level, which means that the learner has covered at least 60 hours starter course.

·  Eva raised the question if the questionnaire used for quantitative analysis will be the same for all groups? There should be different questionnaires, e.g. IT students and professionals. It was also suggested to separate data from universities and colleges and those received from IT professionals.

·  There was a discussion about national English level and Cisco English. In the national report Cisco test should be included if that is used in the country. The course will be prepared to help to pass Cisco test. The project should supplement to preparation for Cisco test needed for data technicians and other professionals (as suggested by the Danish group).

·  Questionnaires will be translated into partner languages adapted for local users. Online questionnaires and the results will be stored on the server and summarized automatically. Interview data will have to be produced by the countries, not on-line.

·  While needs analysis is being carried out, the partners will be looking for the contacts of the target groups (IT students and IT professionals). IT tutors and lecturers might be included into the interviewee group as well to spot problems that IT students may encounter. The target number of respondents is from 50 to100. No restrictions on the number of questionnaires will be imposed. At least 50 respondents should take part in the survey. The interviews will be done with the same respondents who took part in the survey or with different respondents. Their names and contact details should be included on the questionnaire if they tick that they want to be interviewed.

Vilte gave presentation on valorization plan.

The following discussions were held:

·  It was proposed that break down of the tasks and input for every partner for every part of the project should be forwarded to every partner.

·  The money will be transferred to each partner after the agreement is signed and official application is received.

·  As suggested by the Danish partners, bank statements are not issued for money transfers made within the project therefore such evidence cannot be provided. The question will be addressed to the national agency.

Vilte gave presentation on financial regulations and project management requirements to be applied to the project.

The model agreement between the contractor and the partner was presented by Vilte and will be forwarded to the partners as soon as the final version of it is prepared.
