Good Morning St. Margaret Mary School Families!

Happy Sunday! I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful Sunday morning.

I wanted to send out this newsletter early in the day with events, dates and times so that you may receive pertinent information about the week. Yet first, allow me to thank all parents who adhere to our traffic safety rules. As you probably are aware of, traffic safety has always been a strong concern. The faculty and I have discussed on numerous occasions, various strategies to make our campus safer for our students. Crosswalks on both ends of our campus, have been painted so that our students and their parents can walk to their cars safely during pick up times. Parents, please keep using these crosswalks when crossing (particularly with your child) TO and FROM the school building. In addition, may I remind all parents of two important safety rules:

  1. Please donot to approach teachers with conversation during our dismissal time. From 2:30 – 2:45, teachers are busy dismissing students to the car line. The car line consist not only of students entering a vehicle, but also of moving cars. Teachers have the tremendous responsibility to make sure students walk to their car and enter safely. If you would like to speak to a teacher, please wait until all students have been properly checked into daycare (no earlier than 2:50).
  2. The morning “drop off” lane is for immediate loading and unloading only. No parking please.

In my last newsletter, I mentioned that ‘DAYCARE’ would be open on the following days:

  1. FRIDAY – November 10th - Veterans Day Observed
  2. WEDNESDAY – November 22nd THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY
  3. FRIDAY – November 24th Thanksgiving Holiday
  4. MONDAY – November 27th – Parent / Teacher Conference Day – No school.

Please send me a text (310-251-5645) or email (), if you will be using DAYCARE on any of the days listed above.

Last week proved to be quite busy with plenty of festivities:

  • On Tuesday, our students arrived to school in their Halloween costumes and participated in the annual Halloween parade.
  • On Wednesday, November 1st, the entire student body celebrated Mass together to recognize ‘ALL SAINTS DAY.’
  • On Thursday, November 2nd the entire school once again ventured off to the church for an ‘Dia De Los Muertos’ prayer service. The prayer service, planned and prepared by Mrs. Quinn and her awesome 8th graders, was a service to remember our loved ones who have since joined our beloved Savior. Thank you, Class of 2018 for a lovely service.
