- In 2012 Stiles Company began construction on One Plantation Place

- High rise apartment complex

- Potential increased demands on the Fire Department capabilities and resources.

- Presented training opportunity

- Gave us a chance to prepare for a potential crisis.

- Project Manager, Lori Douvris (Doo Vrees) and the entire Stiles team opened their doors and their hearts

Welcomed us onto their property and into their lives.

Jointly planned, developed and implemented high rise fire training

- Effectively developed and employed new department procedure for managing high rise incidents.

- Stiles personnel frequently walked the property with us

- Showed us the ins and outs of the buildings,

- Kept us apprised of their progress and offered the best times to access the property.

- During drills

- Provided a member of their team

- On site each night

- Addressed our needs

- Then secured the property when we left.

o  Began the drill one night

o  Inadvertently drove over a portion of their landscaping

o  Did significant damage.

o  Tried to clean it up,

o  Damage was far too great.

o  Called them the next morning

o  Fess up to our transgressions,

o  Their response “I guess we’ll have to widen the drive area so you can get those big trucks through.”

-  As a result of planning, cooperation, and team effort

-  Able to develop, test and execute an organized plan for battling high rise incidents in a way we never had before.
