Reminder to all coaches and team managers about contacting the opposing team for uniform colors

As mentioned at the coaches meeting, each week prior to the gameone of thecoaches or team manager (from each team)should contact (via email or phone) the opposing team to confirm jersey color for the upcoming game. You can find the opposing team’s contact details and jersey colors on the WYSL websitein the schedule. See link below

  • WYSL Website schedule -

Like Harrison, most teams have a home and an away jersey. When you contact the opposing team, you should indicate our jersey colors (Maroon and Gold). Typically at home games, the home team wears their home colors, However,as per the WYSL rules, if there is a conflict and both teams have the same color, the home team is responsible for making the change of uniforms. See below for link to the rules on the WYSL website

WYSL Website rules (see page 22) -

Confirmation of Uniform Colors - from the WYSL rule book:

It is the responsibility of the home team to check and verify the colors of the visiting team with the opposing coach. Where the colors of the uniforms of the competing teams are similar, the home team must effect a change of colors that are distinct from those of the visiting team. T-shirts or pinnies, with or without numerals, will be permitted as an alternative uniform.

In any event, you should always have our Harrison teams wear 1 jerseyand bring the other color jersey in their HYSC back packs to every game in case a switch is required (whether at home or away).

Another benefit to contacting the opposing team and exchanging contact details each week is in case there are any last minute field changes, parking instructions or weather related issues, then you will have theopposing teamscontact details.
