Neighborhood Reinvestment Grants -

1. Adams school playground – Mark Jones spoke about need to upgrade playground and make it totally wheelchair accessible and designed to keep kids moving. Would like EENA’s support in Grant application. Approximate cost $40 – 50 K. School district won’t fund playground but will maintain it – huge benefit.

Board approved application with the assumption that the city will pursue an agreement with the school board that the playground will remain open to the public. Lindsay Barnes will submit grant information to Bob before Final Approval of the Board.

2. Chipper/goat program – Board voted Yes to go with chipper this year and re-evaluate goat program next summer.

3. Greenbelt lighting – board voted to wait until 2015 as city is also looking into this project.

4. Communications grant – Approved by the board for $800

New Business:

Picnic– Brought in $259 and spent for signs and food – Approx. $165. Only used 1 box of hot dogs – M & W took dogs and rolls back no problem. M & W donated $50 towards our cost – and meat and wholesale.

Suggestions for 2014 picnic = flyer and signs must say Fundraiser

Lee has sign in-sheets .

Feedback from picnic:

Clean up your yard or your neighbors’ yards day – Plan event and put on calendar to help improve our neighborhoods – comment made that many yards on WS and close by unkempt looking. Also suggestion made to publicize poop pick up and goat head pick-ups at park on the Web.
