Position: Sponsor Relations Manager – With Stipend

Duty Station: Arusha, Tanzania

The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides FREE, high-quality education to over 1,900 primary and secondary students from the poorest communities in Arusha, Tanzania. This is made possible through the generosity of many people around the world. Sponsorship and donations are a vital part of the ongoing success of St Jude’s, and every contribution is valued.

The School is currently seeking applications from creative, organised and enthusiastic individuals to lead their Sponsor Relations Team. The Sponsor Relations Team prides itself on producing engaging, informative and highly personalized communication to our extensive sponsor base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of 12Tanzanian and Western staff, in two locations.
  • Coordinating the major functions of sponsor relations (Sponsor Communications, Sponsor Correspondence and Sponsor Renewals).
  • Approving all new sponsorship documents and correspondence being sent to sponsors.
  • Liaising with sponsors and St Jude’s staff
  • Provide Ongoing Training and development opportunities to our Tanzanian staff
  • Answering general sponsorship related questions and individual enquires about specific sponsor packages.
  • Ensuring up-to-date and accurate records are being kept on the database.
  • Providing various weekly, monthly reports on sponsorship to St Jude’s management.
  • SR Team support in delivering the student selection process each year.

Skills/Attributes:

  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Previous experience in working in a large NGO (preferably within the Donors/Sponsor Department)
  • Exceptional creative writing, design and communication skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills to work in collaboration with all other departments
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Access and Publisher a must)
  • A strong commitment to the continued training of Tanzanian staff
  • Exceptional attention to details
  • The ability to be flexible, extremely patient, personable and easy-going

A minimum commitment is 24 months is required

Living allowance:
