Newsletter 1 – Autumn Term 2

Welcome back to what promises to be a busy half term in school!

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB – GYMNASTICS

This has been a very popular club, we would like to make you aware this will now start next week (Thursday 10th November) All children that have shown interest in this club will be sent a letter by the end of this week to confirm if they have been allocated a place or not.

Exciting addition to school – A Playpod

We are delighted to tell you we have been successful in our bid for lottery funding and have received a grant for £10,000 which we are using to fund an exciting outdoor resource which our children will be able to access at playtime, lunchtime and during learning time. A ‘Playpod’ is a large store which has lots of recyclable materials inside like tubes, tyres, boxes this will support pupils to develop imaginations, work together, promote writing. Look out for the pod arriving!

Staffing News

Ruth Smith is resigning from her post as a Teaching Assistant later this term, I would like to thank Ruth for all her fantastic hard work and dedication to our school and am pleased she is continuing to volunteer as a governor and football coach- THANKYOU!

Poppy Appeal

We are supporting the Poppy Appeal by selling poppies at 20p and other items listed below during lunchtimes from Thursday.

Anti bullying Week

During week beginning 14th November we will be joining in the National Anti bullying week

- this years theme is “Power for Good” Through assemblies and class discussions we will explore the ways in which pupils are powerful and able to stop bullying - please talk to your child about this.

Children In Need – Friday 18th November

We will be joining the big “Spotacular” to support this years fun raising- dressing up in spots, taking spotty challenges and eating spotty food! Details to follow.

Dine with your child – Y1/2 ST
