Director’s Summary

Over the past month there has been some significant progress made on the FUSD District Mobile Phone Application, our press releases, events, advertising, and videos coming from the Public Relations Office. We are moving forward with a targeted plan for promoting the District and my final draft of the FUSD Marketing Strategy will be submitted for Dr. Fuller’s approval within the coming weeks.

Press releases were sent out on the following topics:

1.  FHS Agriculture Teacher awarded “Most Outstanding” in State.

2.  Bronco and Gopher Days announcements

3.  The Public Forum on Education held at PBHS (Pre and Post)

4.  Mr. Nick Trakas being awarded the “Technology Educator of the Year”

5.  An official statement on the state of Poston Butte High School and our higher enrollment numbers

Public Relations Point of Contact and FUSD News Website

The Points of Contact at all of our sites have been working diligently to get information posted to the news website. A lot of positive news stories have been and will continue to be posted regularly. The launch of this website took place on Monday, August 4th. A press release was sent out on Monday morning announcing the launch.

District Wide Mobile Phone Application

The discussion around the District-Wide Mobile Phone Application at the last Board Meeting created some great thinking points and considerations moving forward. That being said, we have decided to pilot the mobile app at Skyline Ranch K-8. Mr. Haugen approached me after the last board meeting and discussed his excitement for the mobile app and his willingness to take it on. This semester we will be launching it at Skyline Ranch and we will come up with the uses and redundancies of the app, and present them to the Board at a later date.

Video Series

The “My FUSD Story” video series is moving forward as planned and one is scheduled to be filmed in the month of August.

A commercial was shot at Anthem K-8 and is awaiting final approval before submission to the public.

More commercials and videos will be coming out in the next month about the convocation and the other events happening throughout the district.

Community Interaction

On July 31st, we held an Ice Cream Social at Anthem K-8. Over 400 people were in attendance and it gave Anthem the opportunity to show off the district’s use of technology and the great educational opportunities Anthem K-8 has to offer students. More events like this will now be planned district-wide.

Advertising

Our advertising campaign is going to focus around local goals. This means we are going to be targeting our advertising to the different communities we serve, and will be targeting new areas to increase our enrollment by showing the options and opportunities we offer students who attend FUSD schools.
