POSITION: / Director of Instructional Design and Instruction
Job Duties: / The Director of Instructional Design and Instruction is responsible to the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Research for supporting the deans and their faculty in the pursuit of program quality and instructional excellence. The Director of Instructional Design and Instruction will be responsible for all aspects of faculty and staff support and training in the areas of instructional design, use of technology, and
Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver a comprehensive faculty/staff development program that meets identified needs and interests for professional development
2. Coordinate and implement a process for student evaluation of faculty and courses each semester; provide needed feedback and information to instructional supervisors
3. Help deans to provide comprehensive adjunct services/assistance, including a regularly scheduled part-time and full-time faculty orientation session, updated (online) faculty handbook (for full-time and part-time instructors), and online training.
4. Evaluate new technologies to discover new and better ways to enhance instruction
5. Assist faculty in discovering methods of improving their instruction with and without technology
6. Conduct training sessions teaching faculty and staff how to use new technologies and new innovations in instruction
7. Evaluate the use of technologies and their impact on student learning outcomes
8. Create training materials and provide resources for faculty to improve classroom, hybrid, and online delivery of instruction
9. Oversee the implementation of new technologies on-campus for the use of instruction."
10. Provide input on division planning and evaluation.
11. Assist Dean with the development and maintenance of faculty credential database.
12. Perform research and report writing activities as needed
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: / A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university *and* Five (5) years of experience in management or Instructional Design, Learning, Design and Technology, Education or related field
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS: / Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Learning, Design and Technology, Education or related field. Six or more years’ work experience in instructional design and innovation in teaching methods
WORK SCHEDULE: / Schedule - Monday – Friday
SALARY: / Targeted salary is commensurate with education and experience, not to exceed the budgeted amount of $50,000 per year.
