Jesus Is a Fisherman

By Tom Zart

Jesus is a fisherman
Who saves the souls of man.
Dead or alive he leads the faithful
To the streams of promise land.
He sees us when we’re happy
He hears us when we’re glad.
He whispers words of hope to us
When we face something sad.
As wicked thoughts control the mind
Evil deeds control the heart.
Jesus is who we turn to
When from sins we must depart.
Jesus is a fisherman
Who baits his hook with love.
Casting his line in your direction
From the banks of heaven above.

ST. ALOYSIUS BULLETIN

ST. ALOYSIUS’ NEWS
2013 ANNUAL COLLECTION
(Excerpt from letter to all parishes)
“…From the beginning of the Year of Faith in October to the historic conclave that gave us the joy of welcoming our new Pope Francis just before this year's grand Easter celebrations, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed a fulfilling first year as Archbishop of Montreal.
As if all of this were not wonderful enough, we are commemorating the 25th anniversary of our diocesan Church's Annual Collection this year! Twenty-five years of generosity and almost $40 million shared in support of the pastoral dynamism of the Christian communities and organizations throughout our diocese…”
“…I thank the Lord for your faithful participation in this great annual diocesan rendezvous. The testimony of your mutual aid gives me great hope, and I am counting on you again this year!
May God keep you in the thanksgiving and light that flow from the Risen Christ, whom we have just celebrated.”
+ Christian Lépine
Archbishop of Montreal
