A Leader Among Leaders

We have just completed the first month of 2017, and well into the second month. Starting out the year, we are learning what it takes to become a leader among leaders. So as we celebrate significant African-American leaders to commemorate this month of Black History, I would like to highlight a few great women leaders. These women are awe inspiring and helped to motivate many women across this nation.

Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematician who helped win the space race - Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. They were all a part of NASA's team of human "computers." Who knew? Although their story remained concealed from the public, until now, they made their impact on American history. Katherine Johnson, who is still living, was granted the Presidential Medal of Freedom award, America's highest civilian honor by our former President Obama.

What does it take to be a leader among leaders? Strength, courage, discipline and plenty more. First, you need to recognize your identity in the royal dynasty of God (Psalms 139:14, 1 Peter 2:9). You are indeed priceless (1 Cor 6:20)!! Accept your sonship and high calling of God, and walk in it (Gal 3:26, Phil 3:14). Becoming a leader among leaders is a daily discipline. You must make a conscious effort to strive for that level of discipline. Greatness is in you, and this level of leadership is attainable!
