OAK BROOK SKATING PROGRAM

2017-18

Dear Oak Brook Parents,

The Oak Brook Physical Education & Health Program is providing its students an opportunity to experience inline skating. Inline skating is a special addition to our physical education curriculum. The focus of the program will entail developing basic inline skating skills, as well as promoting physical fitness and a healthy, active lifestyle. Inline skating will help improve balance, ankle stability, physical coordination, and motor skills. In addition it gives the participant a good cardiovascular workout.

For participation in this program we ask each student for a $5.00 skate rental donation. This donation will help cover program expenses which include the student’s use of skates and safety gear. Helmets, kneepads, wrist guards, and elbow pads are provided as part of the program. The district skates have approved wheels and brakes especially designed for use indoors on the gym floor, therefore students must use the skates provided by the district. Students may choose to bring their own helmet if approved and properly fitted by the lead instructor. SOCKS MUST BE WORN AND MUST COVER THE ENTIRE FOOT AND MID-CALF.

A parental permission form is provided below and must be completed and returned to school before participating. Please fill out this form and return to your school’s physical education department by Wednesday, December 20th, with cash or a check for $5.00 made out to “Parkway School District.” Visit our HPE website for more info at
