Title:Assessing the Occupational Health Risks and Health Behaviors for Men in Correctional Nursing and Evaluating the Barriers and Facilitators for a Peer Mediation Program

Role: Principal Investigator

Major Goals:To compare occupational exposures, health behaviors and outcomes of male and female RNs in the Correctional Managed Health Careworkforce. Using the Organization of Work framework, this study examines differences in gender role expectations, incidents of Type III workplace violence, and implications for nurse retention. It will also examine facilitators and barriers to improve the utilization of a peer-based mediation program.
