SHORELAND ZONE PERMIT PROCEDURE

  1. Acquire permit application from the Town Office or at waterfordme.org.
    If the structure or explanation requires installation of a wastewater disposal system or expansion of an existing system, a soils analysis and wastewater disposal system design must accompany this application.
  2. If item B is required, Question 31, Section A, B and C, must be completed and signed by the Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector PRIOR to the Planning Board review.
    Any additional permits, approvals, and/or reviews required on Page 6 must be acquired or completed PRIOR to final review by the Planning Board.
  3. Copy of Deed to accompany application.
  4. Photographs of the lot to be developed and/or the structure to be renovated are required with the application (front, rear, and side views).
  5. Any questions regarding the permit application will be answered at any regularly scheduled Planning Board meeting or may be answered by contacting a Planning Board member for assistance.

All applications shall be submitted with three copies.

*Applicant is responsible for any additional review costs incurred by the town.

An application for a permit shall be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $25 plus $1 per $1,000 of the estimated cost including materials and labor over $2,000. This application fee shall be made by cash or check, payable to the Town of Waterford.
