PART 1GENERAL

1.01SCOPE

A.Furnishing, installation, and assembly of lighting control for areas classified as hazardous.

1.03SUBMITTALS - FOR REVIEW/APPROVAL

A.The following information shall be submitted to the engineer.

  1. Manufacturer’s descriptive literature and technical specifications for each product
  2. Manufacturer’s product drawing (2D or 3D), when requested
  3. Manufacturer’s installation and maintenance document

1.04QUALIFICATIONS

A.The supplier of the assembly must be the manufacturer of the major components within the assembly.

B.For the equipment specified herein, the manufacturer must be ISO 9001 certified.

C.The manufacturer of this equipment must have produced similar electrical equipment for a minimum period of five (5) years. When requested by the engineer, an acceptable list of installations with similar equipment will be provided demonstrating compliance with this requirement.

D.Products must be free of defects in material and workmanship.

A.Store products in manufacturer’s unopened packaging until ready for installation

2.01MANUFACTURERS

2.02ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

A.XLC Lighting Contactor:

  1. Standard line voltage of 600 VAC.
  2. Lighting contactor coil voltage of 120VAC.
  3. The lighting contactor must be rated for 30A.
  4. The lighting contactor must allow up to 12 poles.

2.03material requirements

A.XLC Lighting Contactor:

  1. Enclosure body and cover must becopper-free, die cast aluminum.
  2. Enclosure must contain neoprene gasket for ingress protection.
  3. Enclosure must contain hex head stainless steel, triple lead bolts.

2.04design and performance requirements

A.XLC Lighting Contactor:

  1. A C30CN lighting contactor must be used for lighting control.
  2. The lighting contactor must allow for both electronically and mechanically held configurations within the same unit.
  3. The lighting contactor must have a visual indication when the contact is closed.
  4. The lighting contactor must have finger and back-of-hand protection on each power terminal to prevent accidental contact with personnel or tools.
  5. The enclosure must have captive, triple lead, quick release, hex head stainless steel bolts.
  6. The enclosure must have tap-in mounting feet.
  7. The enclosure must have a Type 4X breather and drain.

PART 3EXECUTION

2.05INSTALLATION

A.The enclosure must be provided with two ¾” NPT control conduit entries

B.The enclosure must be provided with twelve 1” NPT power conduit entries
