Sanderson Calderglen Joint Inclusion Policy

Rationale

All pupils should be given the opportunities which allow them to attain their maximum potential. It is the duty of educationalists to both provide support and offer challenge to allow all pupils to reach their potential.

It is our belief that equity should exist for all pupils, this does not mean all pupils are treated the same but rather are given the amount of individual support and challenge they need to attain the best they can and this will vary for all pupils.

The aim of this policy is to raise levels of achievement for all pupils across both campuses. This would involve pupils for Sanderson campus being challenged by undertaking coursed in Calderglen and Calderglen pupils being supported as well as challenged by undertaking some classes with Sanderson pupils.

This policy will also provide opportunities for social inclusion with pupils from Sanderson having the opportunity to take part in lunchtime clubs in Calderglen and vice-versa.

The policy also takes account of opportunities for staff in terms of CPD and staff development opportunities as well as sharing of resources. Joint delivery of some classes would afford the staff involved development opportunities. All staff would also have the opportunity to access courses/speakers/in-service day courses in both schools.
