COURSE DESCRIPTION: This selected topic course will build upon the knowledge and skill acquired in ART 26604 and ART 36604. This course will introduce a wider variety of photographic materials and techniques both traditional and non-traditional. Students in this selected topic course will write a contract with their instructor that will outline their personal goals for this semester.

Materials: A fee collected at registration will cover the cost of chemicals and one 25 sheet package of printing paper-the student will be responsible for purchasing film and additional paper.

COURSE OUTCOMES: The following outcomes have been adopted for this course. All outcomes
listed below have direct relevance to course material. Upon completion of this course students are
expected to:
A.  Following discussions with their Professor, students will write a contract with their instructor that will outline their personal goals for this semester.
B.  To understand the historical context of the medium as it relates to their work.
C.  Become familiar with the work of major 20th and 21st century photographers.
D. Develop an understanding of critical analysis through periodic critiques of student work.

Portfolio/Journal: Along with the portfolio of images, each student must submit five journal entries. The journal entries consist of articles on photographers that are of particular interest to the student.
Each entry must include at least two or three images of the artists work and a brief statement about why this artist was chosen.
BFA Program AQIP disk- Assessment Requirements
Each student will be required to submit a digital portfolio documenting their work for the course. This portfolio will be used in course and program review processes, but may also be used for grading. Instructor to provide a detailed list of required documents and formats.
Additional requirements for all art majors include:
A. Visit a museum or commercial gallery, and submit an original 500-1000 word reaction paper, in Microsoft Word format to each instructor.
B. Make an effort to show your work. This could take several forms—you could enter a juried competition, organize a group or solo show, complete a design job for a client, or get a commissio
Attendance policy: Attendance is mandatory for all classes. If you are late for class, your participation and attendance points will go down proportionately to the time you get to class. If you are late three times, this will result in an absence. You will be allowed three absences without penalty however you will be held responsible for what was missed in class. More than three absences will result in the lowering of your final grade by one full letter. Six absences will result in course failure.
