Objectives of the Division:

The objective of the “OneMEGT” business model is to explore the commercial benefits associated in establishing a single internal and external service mix, with a focus on creating multiple revenue streams to the business service arms. Another key point is to strategically consider the future service offerings that MEGT currently provides as an organisation that is heavily dependent on government contracts and funding streams, and whether within this context we are commercially vulnerable.

With a single-minded goal of making access to education, employment and apprenticeships simpler for industry, the concept of combining all related services is significant.

Objectives of the Position:

MEGT’s team of Managers are a dynamic, professional team, integral to the management of MEGT’s Recruitment & Management Services division. They have the responsibility for the delivery of MEGT’s Recruitment & Management Services in compliance with the National Standards for Group Training Organisations. A demonstrated understanding of business development, marketing, budgeting and performance setting, is necessary. A self starter, who enjoys managing and motivating teams to deliver specific business KPIs is required as well as an excellent communicator with the ability to represent the interests of MEGT at applicable Government and Industry forums. Frequent travel would be required as a part of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note:The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level.)

In the role, you will be required to:

  1. Lead a team of Senior Industry Employment Consultants (SIEC), Industry Employment Consultants(IEC) and Administration Staff of the Recruitment & Management Services Division to ensure they provide a high quality service by giving staff direction, assisting staff to improve their performance, identifying training and other staff development needs, resolving conflict and addressing occupational health and safety needs and maintaining company policies and procedures
  2. Develop an appropriate staff profile by advising the OneMEGT State Manager SA/WA of the necessary staffing numbers and positions, through the preparation of a business case. Ensure all staff receive an appropriate induction into MEGT
  3. Ensure that MEGT meets all the performance indicators, standards and contractual requirements it is responsible to meet, and fully complies with all legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to the operation of the GTO by managing staff performance and monitoring performance against required indicators. Also to immediately advise the OneMEGT State Manager SA/WA of any significant variations in performance
  4. To achieve or exceed yearly performance targets for the region as set by the OneMEGT State Manager SA/WA by building a strong network of employers of all sizes and types and marketing and promoting apprenticeships and traineeships to prospective employers across the region
  5. Work cooperatively and strategically across the MEGT Divisions to raise the profile of RMS SA/WA and implement successful and beneficial linkages within the region to provide MEGT clients with a ‘one-stop-shop’ service wherever possible
  6. Ensure marketing databases for the promotion of MEGTactivities are maintained and assist with the organisation and operation of various promotional events
  7. Develop, implement and maintain strategic plans for the region for growing the business
  8. Continually undertake a comprehensive and strategic analysis of the market place in the region and demonstrate visionary, contemporary and timely responses to initiatives in order to best place MEGT Recruitment & Management Services to capitalise on any opportunity in the region
  9. Attend GTstrategic management meetings and work as a team with other Managers and team members
  10. Organise regular staff meetings to discuss current performance against KPIs, all relevant issues and opportunities for the region and to implement any new company policy and procedures
  11. Identify key performers within the area as part of the National succession plan, and also identify staff development needs
  12. Preparation of high quality tenders and submissions

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities:

All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct.

Police Check:
This position is required to undertake a National Police Check and any State/Territory Working with Children Check (where applicable). The National Police Check must be renewed every 2 years from the date of the initial check as a minimum.
