The Organizational Development Consultant is responsible for delivery of organizational development services to our business partners that align with the OD Strategy. These services include the implementation of performance management, talent management, competency modeling, leadership development, and performance consulting. This person must be an expert facilitator and practitioner of OD tools including: 360 feedback, selection and development assessments, survey tools and methodology, organizational learning, career planning, coaching, and team development. This person must be able to work as an independent consultant to company leaders including Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Consults with business partners, including Vice Presidents, to provide OD interventions.

Supports the design of the OD Strategy and methods for implementation.

Implements and teaches performance management within business units.

Partners with HR Generalists to implement talent management and succession planning processes within business units.

Provide competency modeling and job design services to help increase the effectiveness of individuals and teams.

Facilitates meetings, workshops, trainings, and other events to engage business partners in process design and learning.

Supports the design and implements selection processes ensuring that managers have the skills and abilities to make effective selection decisions.

Provides survey and feedback tools including 360 feedback; partners with management to provide feedback reports and training to participants.

Designs and implements organizational surveys for the purpose of gaining feedback for process improvement, and determining base-line measures for targeted improvement initiatives. Responsible for working with OD Analyst to analyze the data and designing communication tool to deliver results.

Supporting the implementation of all aspects of Organizational Development processes enterprise-wide.

Utilizing analytic tools to manage Organizational Talent.

Conducting research studies of policy and procedures, work environments, organizational structure, communication systems, morale, and motivation to assess organizational effectiveness.

Advising management in strategic changes to personnel, managerial, operational and merchandising policies and practices to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Managing company-wide change management initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no current supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years experience in organizational development preferably working in retail organizations.
  • Bachelor of Science in OD, I/O Psychology, HRD or related field. (Master of Science Degree preferred)
  • Experience with computer-based (online) Talent Management systems, Performance Management systems, and Selection testing systems and development.
  • Experience with the concepts of performance management, talent management and organizational development, and selection testing, including the design and implementation of such tools.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of organizational systems, strategic business planning, needs assessment, design and delivery of evaluation measurements, cost benefit analysis, survey design.
  • Experience facilitating and consulting with business leaders (Directors and VPs)
  • Experience using OD tools to improve individual, team, and organizational performance

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master of Science Degree, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology or related fields. Minimum 2 years experience, preferably in a retail environment.
