Warm Up: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Start: 10:45 a.m.

Coaches Meeting: 9:45 a.m.

Officials Meeting: 10:15 a.m.

Eligibility: All swimmers must be registered “competitive” with Swimming/Natation

Canada (SNC) or a FINA affiliate.

PARA Swimmers who are registered with a FINA or IPC affiliate are welcome and will be seeded according to their entry time.

Swimmers must be a minimum of seven years of age as of the 1st day of competition.

Competition: Current SNC rules shall apply except as specifically modified herein.

All events are timed finals.

Males and females will compete separately.

Seeding: All events will be pre-seeded by time and seeded slowest to fastest.

NTs’ will be accepted, however swimmers will be seeded last.

Start: The FINA start shall be used for all events per SNC Rule SW 4

Each race starts with a beep and flash, for this reason there is no flash photography allowed just prior to start of the race.

Scratches: Scratches from heats simply create empty lanes, as there shall be no re-seeding. Scratches from heats may be made at any time without penalty except for loss of entry fee. Clubs are requested to report any scratches no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the meet (Saturday morning 10:15 a.m.)

Protests: As per SNC Rule GR 9.2.

Warm-up: SNC Warm up procedures will be in effect at this meet, as per the Swimming/Natation

Canada, Competition Warm-Up Safety Procedures (June 27/2014)(see attached

document)

During warm-ups, no swimmer shall enter the pool by a dive except during the last 25 minutes of the warm-ups (10:05 -10:30), when lanes 1& 6 are designated as diving lanes. During this period, diving and one-way swimming only will be allowed in these lanes. The Safety Marshall shall have discretion to designate additional lanes for diving.

There will be no lane assignments for warm-ups. All lanes are open.

Safety: Safety Marshals will be on deck during warm-ups.

For the safety of our swimmers there will be no glass containers allowed in the pool area. Food is also prohibited on the pool deck.

No “Deck Changing” is allowed. Swimmers must use the change rooms.

IT IS THE COACH`S RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM SWIMMERS OF ALL SAFETY RULES AND TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THOSE RULES.

Events: A list of events can be found at the end of this document.

Entries: Entry times are to be in short course metres. Clubs are encourage to provide an entry time however NTs’ will be accepted. Swimmers may enter up to 6 individual events plus 2 relays.

Clubs must submit entries by uploading their Hy-Tek entry file to the SNC National Meets Entries site at: http://www.swimming.ca/meetlist.aspx

The swimmer’s birth date must be entered.

The Swimmer’s 9 – digit SNC Registration Number must accompany all meet entries.

Classification numbers for Para swimmers must accompany entries

Relays: Relay events will be swum in 3events (female, male and mixed) and then multi-aged for results in the following age categories: 10 & Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14 and 15 & Over

Mixed relays must consist of 2 males and 2 females per relay team entry

Names of relay members must be submitted to the Clerk of Course 30 minutes prior to

the start of the1st session on Saturday (10:15a.m.), if relay names are not submitted by

the required time the club relay will be considered exhibition.

Deck Entries Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 45 minutes prior to

the start of the session in which the event is to be swum. Deck entries will require a

payment of $14.00/individual swim and $20.00/relay. Payment will be required prior to

entry into the event.

Deck entries will be classified as exhibition swims as per SNC rule CSW 3.6.5

Deck entries will be allowed at the discretion of the Meet Manager and the Clerk of Course

Entry Fees: There is a $10.00 Registration Fee per swimmer.

Entry fees are set at $7.00/individual entry

Relays are set at $10.00/relay entry.

Deck entries are $14.00 for each individual deck entry and 20.00 for each relay deck

entry

All entries are due midnight, Friday, October 10th 2014.

Entry Fees must be paid prior to the start of Saturday’s warm-ups, and can be delivered in person to the Meet Manager.

Results: The results will be uploaded to the National meet Entries & Results system at: http://www.swimming.ca/meetlist.aspx

Individual event results will be by the following age groups:

Female - 10 & Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 and Over.

Male - 11 and Under, 12 & 13, 14 & 15, 16 and Over

Relay results will be by the following age groups:

10& Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14 and 15& Over

Request for Official Splits

As per SNC Swimming Rule CSW 13.3.1.1 - Meet Management requires, that a coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by a swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event, must advise the Referee and Meet Management prior to the commencement of the event in question will be held. The coach must complete the “Official Split Request Form" and submit to the Referee. The Official Split Request Form is available through Meet Management or by downloading from the SNC site at:http://www.swimsask.ca/management.htm

Such official split shall then be reported as a separate event in the meet results.

Awards: 1st-8th place ribbons for individual events

1st to 3rd place ribbons for relays

Scoring: No scoring in this meet

Officials: Visiting clubs are encouraged to participate in officiating at the meet at whatever levels they may be qualified. Please advise the Meet Manager Trevor Baker @ of any available officials and their level(s) of qualification.

Coffee and muffins will be provided for officials and coaches in the morning, Lunch will also be provided.

COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES

Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals.

GENERAL WARM-UP:

·  Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position.

·  Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited.

·  Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage.

·  Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes.

·  Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted.

·  Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up.

EQUIPMENT:

·  Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time.

·  Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use.

·  Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time.

VIOLATIONS:

·  Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be scratched without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred.

·  In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed.

SAFETY MARSHALS:

The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall:

·  Be visible by safety vest

·  Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled.

·  Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods.

·  Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee.

PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION:

Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach’s discretion.

The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices:

“SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET.”
