Below on page two you will find the Stall Request form. This form will be used for either or both shows.

If you will be showing, in ONE show only, select either SHOW A OR SHOW B, if you are showing in both then please check both SHOW A & SHOW B and fill out the information and mail it to the Show Secretary with the Stall Request Form.

The MGR Show rules pertain to both shows.

Goats must be checked in by show secretary and the fair grounds veterinarian.

Check in will be: 6pm - 9pm on Friday, July 7th

9:30am – 11:30am on Saturday, July 8th

***please contact show secretary for check in times for animals showing on Sunday only, or if you are unable to check in during the above listed times. All animals must be checked in at least one hour prior to the show.***

Show will start promptly at 1:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. Sunday

A 30 minute break between the doe & buck class will be given

SHOW AND

MGR SANCTIONED SHOW RULES

1.  Goats must be registered by the Myotonic Goat Registry. The ORIGINAL registration certificate MUST accompany the goat during check-in. Kids under three (3) months of age must be registered for any sanctioned classes.

2.  Age eligibility for classes will be determined by registration certificate.

3.  The full correct registered name of goat must be used on the entry forms.

4.  The goats permanent ID (USDA scrapie tag, tattoo, or microchip) must be on the Certificate and registered with the MGR.

5.  The correct Breeder/Exhibitor name as on the Reg. Certificate must be on the entry form, unless you have a signed transfer application that is dated 45 days or less to the show date.

6.  One MGR Breeder number constitutes one exhibitor. But you may bring handlers to help.

7.  All Youth Showmanship exhibitors must know their breeder number and have the participating goats MGR registration certificate with registration number available.

8.  Age eligibility for classes will be determined by birth date on registration certificate and the date of the show.

9.  Pending registrations will not be accepted at check in.

10.  All goats MUST have accompanied with them a valid health certificate of veterinary inspection signed by an accredited veterinarian. This certificate should not be dated any more than 30 days prior to the show. It should also include the animal’s name and identification.

11.  If you use microchips, you must furnish a reader. All tattoos MUST be legible, and you must furnish a flash light to have them read. Scrapie tags are acceptable as proof of identification.

12.  You MUST bring an extra copy of the health certificate that will be retained by the show secretary, along with the original for the health check-in at the fairgrounds.

13.  Substitutions will be allowed at check-In within the same class at no charge as long as the animal is on the health certificate.

14.  Show will start promptly at (1pm Saturday and at 10am Sunday)

15.  Goats must be checked in by 6pm to 9pm on Friday and 9:30am to 11:30am on Saturday.

16.  Goats will be released after the show and no sooner than 5pm.

17.  All goats must be shown with collar. Bucks must be secure at all times.

18.  Showsecretary reserves the right to split large classes.

19.  Entry fee: $7.00 per goat/ per show including kids in sanctioned classes. (late entry fee: $11.00 per goat/ per show including kids in sanctioned classes)

20.  Entries must be postmarked no later than June 17,2012 to be entered into the show book. Any entries post marked after that date is subject to the late entry fee. Please contact the show secretary for all late entries.

22.  No refunds of entry fees.

23.  This is a ribbon and points show.Any available awards will be announced at the show.

24.  Goats may be sold private treaty.

25.  All goats brought must be entered into a class and shown.

26.  Any item that comes up that is not specifically covered by these rules will be decided by the show committee and their decision will be final.

27.  All goats entering NY for exhibition must meet all the requirements for entry into NY. Show personnel will examine goats on grounds. Goats showing evidence of disease, particularly foot rot, sore mouth, abscesses will not be allowed to enter the barn or show and may be released by officials. Animals with an open wound may not be allowed to be unloaded or stay on the showground. This would be determined by the show secretary or veterinarian.

28.  The organizers of this show and the facility will not be liable for any loss, damages or accidents to animals, persons or property while participating in the show. Youth exhibitors are to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

29.  No alcoholic beverages or smoking in the barns or arena allowed.

30.  Exhibitors are responsible for their goats’ safety and should be in a secure locked gate and stall when not being shown or with a handler. At no time should your goat(s) be allowed to roam freely or out of the stall with out a lead.

31.  The fairgrounds require that at least one exhibitor is present in the goat tent to oversee the goats on exhibit at all times while the fair is open to the public. Coverage will be done on a rotating basis to allow all exhibitors a meal break and time away from the goat tent.

32.  During the show, handlers should not wear any clothing, hats, etc. that have any farm name or logo on it. Show secretary reserves the right to ask you to leave the show ring if at any time farm names and logos are present. (MGR logo is acceptable)

33.  All ribbons and awards from prior shows should not be visible. Ribbons and awards handed out during the current show can proudly be displayed.

34.  If breeders and show handlers or guest with them show signs of any “non-sportsman like conduct” or inappropriate behavior they will be asked to leave the ring and or show facility.

35.  No animals can leave prior to the end of the show and 5pm. Stall Clean-outs-please help out and clean all pens used. The fairgrounds will provide set up and take down of pens.

36.  Have fun, learn and work together to promote and preserve the breed!

37.  All breeders and exhibitors must follow all rules and regulations of the Cayuga County Fair grounds.

“Parade of Patriotism”

Show off your stars and stripes in this costume contest

Winner: most patriotic goat & handler

Rules: Goat or goat and handler dress up in what their expression of being the most patriotic is. At no time should the goat be harmed or put in danger of any kind. If the animal appears to be over stressed, the team will be asked to exit the show ring and will not be in the lineup to be judged.

After the judging all entries will parade around the fair grounds to promote our fun breed (not on the midway).

(Entries will not be required to join the parade afterwards)
