Practices

  1. NO PRACTICE NOVEMBER 5. We do not have gym time.
  2. PICTURES WILL BE NOVEMBER 12. We will not be shooting so archers do not need to bring their string bow or bow.
  3. ARCHERS CAN ONLY SHOOT 1 HOUR/DAY. Archers may not make up time by shooting 2 hours/day. We have 114 archers and only 120 practice time slots, so we do not have the ability to allow archers to shoot for 2 hours on one day.
  4. ARCHERS MUST TALK TO A COACH BEFORE LEAVING PRACTICE EARLY. We have 14 coaches. I do my best to pass it on to the coaches if I know an archer needs to leave early, but it is important that if your archers need to leave before their hour timeslot is done that they talk to a coach. We understand that everyone is very busy and sometimes archers need to leave practice a few minutes early to get to their next activity, but a coach that is present at practice must be told. Archers leaving without talking to a coach are at risk for not receiving credit for the practice.
  5. REMEMBER TO SIGN UP FOR PRACTICES at
  6. GAME NIGHT. The last practice of the month will be game night.
  7. GETTING IN AN AVERAGE OF 2 HOURS/WEEK. I have had several questions about how to make the average of 2 hours/week when practices get cancelled. The 2 hours/week requirement was set when we thought the archers would have the option to practice 3 hours/week. We should have stated the requirement as 2/3 of the available practice days. Cancelled practices will not count against the archers. The timesheet that archers clock in/out on shows them what percentage of the available practices times they have attended. Archers can bring up their percentage by practicing 3 hours/week when available.

Tournament Update

CPU tournaments will be January 13 and February 16/17. We are expecting 500-600 archers at each tournament. Watch for sign up genius as we will need help setting up, taking admissions, running the tournament, and tearing down.

We are done taking tournament forms. We have started registering for tournaments we will attend this season. As soon as flight times are know they will be e-mailed and posted on the cpuarchery.com website. Also remember to sign up for the REMIND app. Updates on tournaments and results will be sent out through the app. To sign up for the REMIND app, text 81010 with the message @cpusto
