Miss LaVaughan Payne Becomes Bride of Fabien Weber Today - Early Morning Ceremony Unites Popular Young Couple in Alva Today
An early morning, single ring ceremony will mark the marriage this morning of Miss LaVaughn Payne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Payne, and Fabien Weber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weber of Cherokee.
The marriage will take place at 10 o’clock in the home of the bride’s parents at 910 College with Rev. G. R. Vaughan reading the sacred vows.
The bridal party will stand before a lovely floral scene with delicate white lattice work entwined with fern forming a background for the baskets of gladioli. Tall cathedral tapers in two floor candelabra will be placed at either side of the gorgeous flowers.
Preceding the ceremony Raymond Geis will sing “At Dawning.” He will be accompanied by Miss Eva Hinkley who will also play Lohengrin’s “Bridal Chorus” as the bridal party enters.
Matron-of-honor is Mrs. Harden, sister of the bride. She will wear a floor length, white silk voile with a hopped skirt and trimmed with an embroidered floral design. Her hat will be a white picture hat. The bride will be dressed in an old-fashioned nosegay of saters lilies of the valley and daisies.
Ralph Weber, brother of the bridegroom, will serve as best amn both men will wear dark suits.
Immediately following the ceremony a small reception will be held for the wedding guests. Miss Gertrude mcKetrick and Miss Elizabeth Casper will officiate at the serving table which will be centered with the three-tiered wedding cake flanked with candles.
Mr. and Mrs. Weber will leave immediately after the reception for a wedding trip to Salt Lake City. Guests will be Mr. and Mrs. J. Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weber of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Geis, Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Tucker, Jet, Dr. and Mrs. D. B. Ensor and Evelyn of Hopeton, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Geis. Mrs. A.
