Dear Fellow JYMS Parent or Guardian.
In an effort to keep the parents and guardians involved and informed with what is happening at Jack Young Middle School we have created a Parent Support Group. We are working with teachers and administrators to build a group of parents and/or guardians who are dedicated to the specific needs of middle school students. They are in a very exciting time in their lives and even though they are looking for some independence it is still necessary to be involved. Parents also need a support system in order to successfully navigate through these years as well.
Creating a forum of open communication between parents, teachers and administrators is necessary for our middle school students to be successful. We are all busy and attending a meeting may not be possible. In an effort to keep everyone informed we would like your permission to receive your contact information for the purpose of contacting you as a possible volunteer in the area of time, service, and/or participation in various activities throughout the year. Please complete the contact info below and either send it to the school with the heading c/o Parents in the Middle or have your child drop it off at the side window tomorrow morning. Your contact information will allow the group to put you on a list to be recruited for volunteer opportunities, be invited to round table discussions and be informed about other upcoming events and fund-raising efforts. The support group is a separate entity working with school officials to expand opportunities for all of its students.
