2017 SDG(SustainableDevelopment Goals)Grant ApplicationGuidelines

The141stConventionoftheDioceseofSouthernOhiopassedaresolutionto supportthenewSustainableDevelopmentGoalsadoptedin2015bytheUnitedNations.Thediocesewillcontinuedesignating.07%ofourmissionsharebudgetforannualgrantstoorganizationsandgroupsthatareaffiliatedwithTheEpiscopalChurchorareworkinginpartnershipwithaparish, organizationorindividualintheDioceseofSouthernOhiothatisinvolvedinmissionthatsupporttheSDG’sandhasbeengranted501(c)(3)non-profitstatusbytheInternalRevenueService.TheNationalWorldMissionCommission(N&WMC)hasbeentaskedwithmanagingthegrantprocess.

TheSDG’sexpandupontheMillenniumDevelopmentGoals(MDG’s)and createabroaderrangeofmissionthatmightbesupportedbyaSDGGrant.InformationaboutthenewSDG’scanbefoundat

Weinvitesuchorganizationsandgroupstoapply foragranttobeawarded foruse in2018.

Fundsmustbeusedonlyasspecifiedinthemissionprojectproposal.Anyunusedfundsmustbereturnedtothediocese.

GrantsareonlyawardedformissionworkoutsideoftheUnitedStatesindevelopingnations.Grantsarenotrenewable,butnewgrantapplicationsmaybesubmittedinsubsequentyears.Themaximumgrantamountis$7,000.

GrantapplicationsareduenolaterthanNovember 1, 2017.GrantswillbeawardedinDecember,2017forusein2018.

Areport(formattachedtothisapplication)isrequireduponcompletionofthemissionprojectandisduebySeptember1,2018.
