Business Development & Marketing Manager
Junior Achievement of Albania is local NGO established to implement a project financed by Albanian-American Development Foundation to support entrepreneurship education in Albanian high schools. The goal of JA is to introduce Junior Achievement (JA) programs into the high school curriculum as an elective subject, promoting hands-on entrepreneurial learning and youth empowerment.
Junior Achievement of Albania is headed by its CEO, overseeing the team consisting of the Development and Marketing Manager, Education Manager, the Finance & HR Expert and other support staff.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development & Marketing Manager (BDMM) will be in charge of business development activities (field meetings), sourcing and attracting new partners to the JA network, consolidating the relationship with network stakeholders via regular communication, and handling marketing and public relations activities. He/she will be responsible for consolidating the database with business contacts, ensuring maintenance of active relations; will publish press releases that best highlight JA activities and build media relations; will provide written input for the e-newsletter and electronic memoirs, which are distributed to stakeholders; will generate written content and track JA developments with respect to JA impact and JA results, in order to provide feedback to partners; will be responsible for issuing thank-you letters to contributors. Most importantly, he/she will engagesystematically in pursuing fundraising from the private sector and public grants (government donations, embassy donations and/or EU grants). BDMM will be responsible for issuing progress reports to contributors.
He/she will report to the CEO.
The BDMM will engage in multi-tasking, more intensively in fundraising and in market positioning of the Junior Achievement brand and mission, by locating, developing and negotiating business relationships with potential partners.
ESSENTIAL FINANCE FUNCTIONS:
Conceptualizes fundraising strategies and sponsorship packages that best reflect the domestic market landscape.
Researches marketing trends and fundraising techniques, and applies accordingly.
Keeps up to date with branding protocol of the JA Worldwide.
Engages in field meetings on a regular basis and develops customized sponsorship proposals.
Issues proactive emails to potential partners.
Secures financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations, while carefully monitoring all data entry.
Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with major donors by carrying out a strategy for a large and diverse sustained base of annual individual donors.
Contributes in organizing JA events and competitions between schools, cities and regions in Albania and with regional countries; engages in broad public relations campaigns on the JA events and all related activities by preparing press releases, brochures, and marketing materials.
Coordinates with local media for PR purposes on JA’s behalf.
Contributes with preparation of the JA annual report.
Contributes in managing and updating the webpage designed for JA in Albania.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
3 - 5 years of experience in marketing & business development.
Fundraising experience.
Grant-writing experience (preferred).
Strong presentation skills, positive energy and professionalism.
BA (required), MA (a plus).
Proficiency in English and computer skills including MS Office.
