Shodhaka is here to assist you for a smooth and fair online screening. Do not worry if you face any technical problem (power failure, computer problem etc) – we will give you phone numbers to assist you. But the lines may be busy as many will trying to call around same time; in such cases, please be patient and call later. Also make sure you have read all instructions in this document.
Note: results will NOT be announced for the trial test – it is only for you to acquaint yourself with the system – but please try to use the same system for both trial and final test.

important instructions:
1. Please be relaxed during the exam and answer only those questions for
which you know the answer for sure.
2. Since questions come from different subjects, most of you may not be able to answer some questions. That is fine.
Among the multiple choices, you have to quickly make the correct choice, if you know the choice. If you don’t know the answer or not sure, you can click the ‘submit’ button without making any selections.
3. During the exam, if you do not use the computer/mouse (i.e., not even move the mouse) for 4 or more minutes, you will be logged out automatically (answers will be saved during any break; you can restart the test by logging in again).
4. Most questions with one mark can be answered within 30 seconds. Two marks & 3 marks questions will require a little more time. There is limited time (100 minutes for 110 questions) & some negative marks for wrong answers. Hence, it is best NOT to guess too much.
There are a total of 22 questions for two-marks and 8 for three-marks, remaining will be for 1 mark each.
Some questions require studying a figure, table, reading paragraphs or performing calculations. In such cases, you have to move the mouse over on the figure present in the right corner of the question . Move the mouse outside the region to return to the question (do NOT press escape button). It is good to keep calculators
5. No question will be displayed second time (but immediately after answering each question, you may be able view the question and change your answer).
6. Don’t ignore the trial test: answer ALL questions correctly to get a real feel for the time required and to test the computer system.
7. If you face any problems, please do not panic. Check if you have used correct URL (web address), make sure you have installed latest ‘Adobe flash player’ and try restarting your computer or changing the browser (e.g. chrome to fire fox / explorer). Even if your computer hangs or shuts down due to power failure, please be calm & try to login again. If problem persists, just call one of the numbers listed below:

Due to the type of browsers, internet speed and computers, a few test takers have earlier faced problems. But they have always been solved. If you face any problems, please remember that we are here to help (note

Select the type of problem you are having and follow instructions.
A. Emergency break
You can take one or two breaks in case of emergencies (e.g. power failure, computer hanging/not-responding). But please complete the test within the overall time allotted. If you still have problems, please contact us, we might be able to provide some help.
B. Invalid username and password
If you get such a message, retype the user name and password - without any space. If you have forgotten your username and password, please check your email box for our mail with such information or check the URL whether it is correct or not. If you still have problems, please contact us.
C. Missing plug-in
If such a message is displayed after logging in at the bottom of the page: You have to install flash plug-in for your browser, to install that please go to this link http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/and follow instructions.
D. ‘Take exam’ button does not respond
If you cannot enter into the exam page after clicking the ‘take exam’ button, please change the web browser (e.g., Internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox) and try again.
E. If your page/ computer hangs or does not respond at all in the middle of the exam.
Sometimes questions may appear to overlap (as displayed above). Mouse over on the submit button present on the left corner on the question. If there is no response even after a minute, please exit the test system (by pressing the Esc button or clicking on the ‘Exit button on the right top corner of the screen’). You have to login again.
