Role Profile – College Scholarship Development Manager – Fixed term for 27 months from February 2016

Primary Purpose:To lead on ncn’s HE Scholarship project, supported by AoC and HEFCE Catalyst Fund.

To develop a flexible scholarship framework that will lead to a demonstrable improvement in our students learning experience.

Overview of responsibilities

Working under direction from the AoC College HE Scholarship Director

Working closely with senior and college managers in the lead and partner

Colleges

Working with HE staff in the lead and partner colleges

Working with key local stakeholders, particularly local employers

Familiarisation with present college policies and practices such asdocument interrogation; attendance at key HE meetings; working withmanagers, lecturers and teams to understand present policies and practices.

Engagement in activities such as peer reviews and assessment schemes; staffdevelopment activities; mentoring/ambassador schemes; liaison with thestudent body; university level-organised staff development events; building oncollege employer engagement links.

Training and developing college staff where appropriate.

Working with the central project team, college senior leaders, college secondeeand college programme and teaching teams to identify scholarship measuresappropriate for the college’s position on its ‘scholarship journey’

Integrating these measures and processes within the practices of the college

Developing a scholarship college action plan with clear milestones, outcomes

and outputs

Implementing and evaluating the measures and processes within a centralevaluation measure developed by the central project team

Meeting the central project team’s reporting requirements

Involvement in formal and informal dissemination events and activities

Ensuring the adopted framework meets the criteria for successful kite mark

accreditation and sustainability measures

Involvement in dissemination activities

Attending all appropriate project meetings and helping in the development of a

successful college HE national community of practice

Contributing to appropriate publications dependent on previous experience

Work effectively and in accordance with organisational values to achieve the College’s mission and strategic priorities.

Support, contribute to and take personal responsibility for implementing the College’s commitment to Equality & Diversity.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through participation in the Professional Development Review process.

Support and participate in all initiatives to ensure the College has a safe and healthy environment for all students, staff and visitors.
