A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr.

WHEREAS, James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr., the son of the late James Clayton Walters, Sr. and Lillian Bernier Walters, was born on July 19, 1941, in Prospect, Connecticut. After Prospect Grammar School, he went on to graduate from Leavenworth High School in the last graduating class in 1959. He married Regina Boisvert and together they raised four children and celebrated 51 years of marriage; and

WHEREAS, James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr., a manufacturing engineer, designed steel rolling mills for the better part of his career and eventually owned his own company, the J. C. Walters Company. Later, he became the Vice President of Steel Technologies, retiring in 2006. With great pride, he mentored his protégés to prepare them for successful careers in the business world; and

WHEREAS, James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr. had an active life with many outside interests. When he lived in Connecticut, he started out as a Boy Scout and went on to become Scout Master for Troop 27 and was a Pop Warner Football Coach. He pursued hunting as a sport and was a lifetime member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Jefferson County Gun Club. Much of his time was spent tinkering on his farm and restoring John Deere tractors. His family and friends enjoyed his great sense of humor, his "encyclopedia of jokes," and his Waldo stories that he was always willing to share; and

WHEREAS, James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr. was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Lisa Walters, James Clayton Walters III, Kim LaChance, and Heidi Bastin; eight grandchildren; his brother, George Joseph Walters, Sr.; and numerous other relatives and close friends. He departed this life on March 6, 2013, at the age of 71, and his passing is mourned by all his family and friends with whom he shared his time and talents;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The House of Representatives expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and extends its sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and community of James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr.

âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of the life of James Clayton "Waldo" Walters, Jr.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Regina Walters, 998 Galbraith Road, Pleasureville, Kentucky 40057.
