Pr 6/7 Term 4 2017 Learning Overview

This overview will share what we will be learning this term. It will also give you some information about our daily routines. We are very motivated by our Class Dojos which give us personal rewards for positive behaviour. We continue to use our House Points system throughout the school.

We are supported by our PSA’s: Mrs L Paul and Mrs L. Cuthbert. CCR PE will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with our specialist PE teacher Miss Barclay. During term four,Miss McLean will teach us drama on a Tuesday, Miss McArthur will teach us Gaelic on Mondays and we will have P4C (philosophy for children) on Thursday with Mrs Murray.

Please remember to label all water bottles, lunch bags/boxes, jackets, sweatshirts, gym shoes, personal recreational books etc.

PE kit – a change of T-shirt, suitable shorts or leggings and non-marking gym shoes are preferred. No football tops.

Mobile phones should turned off in the school grounds/premises and put into our “phone box” in class for safe keeping throughout the school day.

Sustainable Learning

We continue to develop our Rights Respecting School work and we are linking this to support the new approach to ECO Schools. We will be reviewing some of the Sustainable Development Goals and Articles from the Convention of the Rights of the Child which we have learned about throughout our time in p6/7

Homework will be handed out on a Monday and should be returned by Friday. All homework will be recorded in the homework diary.

Spelling – every week the children will select their own spelling words for the sound given to them. Children should be selecting words which are a challenge for them. Words should be practised at home and will be tested on a Friday.

Maths – homework will be issued by each individual maths class. Please note this may not always be on a weekly basis. From time to time we may issue homework linked to topic, etc.

Please make regular use of the Class Blog where many aspects of our learning is shared. Comments and feedback are always welcome. Learning Journeys help to share some aspects of our learning too.
