Job Summary:
To effectively and creatively promote and market events, businesses, services and governance efforts of BUSU.
Primary Responsibilities (Social Media):
  • Develop and execute a weekly optimal posting schedule with the Marketing Manager
  • Connect with and Inform the students of Brock through creative and engaging social media interactions
  • Attend BUSU events in order to help execute as well as to help increase school spirit at Brock.
  • Facilitate online conversations with students and respond to queries
  • Report on feedback from fans / followers to the appropriate BUSU contact
  • Meet with, as needed, various Managers within BUSU to discuss their social media goals and needs
  • Suggest and implement new and creative promotions to increase fans / followers, or strengthen the relationships between BUSU and existing fans / followers
  • Research student preferences and discover current trends
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Create / assist in creation of digital content for social (images, video, etc.)
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the marketing team in creating effective promotional materials, such as posters, social media images, web content, and print material.
  • Assist in the planning of promotional, marketing and awareness campaigns for BUSU services, events, businesses and governance efforts
  • Aid in promotion of BUSU through in hall tabling, and in-person presentations
  • Collect feedback from students about BUSU businesses and suggest campaigns and action items to address concerns or needs.
  • Work to ensure that online and print content is professional, accurate, timely, engaging and is consistent with other BUSU messaging.
  • Other marketing duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must be a registered undergraduate student at Brock University during the term of their employment
  • Must have a 60%
  • Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and other productivity software.
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of BUSU services and operations
