Dedication Event Talking Points

Home dedications are one example of an event opportunity that the Thrivent Builds Homes program offers you. Dedications are also great local media events so be sure to invite your local media to attend. The talking points below are for your use in speaking at a home dedication. You are able to use this list as a starting point to help you plan what you will talk about at the dedication – using all or some of the ideas.

Introduction of the FR:

  • I am pleased to welcome XXXXX to say a few words today.
  • As a financial representative for Thrivent Financial, XXXX puts his/her faith into action each day in his/her career by working with members to build their financial security. Through Thrivent he/she also demonstrates his/her faith and commitment to helping others build promising futures for families and our community by participating alongside many of you in activities like building the very home we stand before today.

  • I especially enjoy dedication ceremonies like today’s because they are a visible symbol of what Thrivent Financial is striving to do in communities every day through you, our members.
  • Two major goals of the Thrivent Builds program are to:

1)Through this mission partnership, engage volunteers, congregations, and Thrivent members in meaningful volunteer experiences which positively impact their community.

2)Help Habitat for Humanity Affiliates grow their home building and repairing capacity to serve more families.
