Dear Counselor or Music Teacher:
The Cosgrove Music Club members are pleased to award an annual scholarship to a graduating senior who is planning to major in music, either vocal or instrumental, with an emphasis on performance or teaching. The amount of the scholarship will be $400.00. We ask each applicant to do the following:
1. Complete an application form.
2. Include recommendations from three persons who know about the student’s musical ability.
3. Write a brief essay about music in the student’s life and how he/she hopes music will fit in his/her future.
4. Play or sing a musical piece for a jury of three club members. The student should provide his/her own accompanist. Memorization is not a requirement.
The deadline for completing the application is March 15. An audition time will be arranged after all applications are received.
We would appreciation your cooperation is making this scholarship information available to interested students. Since many music students will be preparing numbers for district music contest, they will have a selection prepared for the audition. Thank you.
