Constitution of India:
No:GH-SH-38-GTS-1079-35693-GH:-In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India read with the order by the President of India published by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Affairs Order No:GSR/51(D) dated the 17th February, 1980 and in super session of all previous rules made in this behalf, Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules for regulating recruitment to the Post of Assistant Engineering Superintendent in Technical High School, in the Gujarat Educational Service, Class-III, namely;
1. These rules may be called the Assistant Engineering Superintendent (in Technical High School) Recruitment Rules 1980.

2. Appointment to the Post of Assistant Engineering Superintendent in Technical Drawing High School) in the Gujarat Educational Service, Class-III shall be made either;

a) by promotion of persons of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons working as Assistant Lecturer in Technical Drawing in Technical High School an who possess the qualifications and experience specified in rule 4; or

b) by direct selection.

3. Appointed by promotion and by direct selection shall be made in the ratio of 1 : 1 respectively.

4. To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule, 2, a candidate shall-

a) be not more than 30 years of age;

b) Possess;

i) degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or both;

ii) at least II Class Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or both or Auto Engineering;

c) About two years' experience of teaching or in workshop engaged in production for degree holders and about three years experience teaching or in workshop Engaged in production for Diploma holders.

d) Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi;

Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate possessing exceptionally good qualifications or experience or both;

Provided further that upper age limit may be also be relaxed in favor of a candidate who is already in the service of the Government of Gujarat in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Service Classification and Recruitment (General) Ruels, 1967 as amended form time to time.

5. The candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year.
6. The selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government in that behalf form time to time.

7. The candidate appointed either by promotion or by direct selection shall be required to undergo such training as may be prescribed by the Government in that behalf from time to time.

No:GH-SH-20-CTS-1080-25841-(82)-GH:-In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Assistant Engineering Superintendent (in Technical High School) Recruitment rules, 1980 namely;
1. These rules may be called the Assistant Engineering Superintendent (in Technical High School) Recruitment (Amendment) rules, 1982.

2. In the Assistant Engineering Superintendent (in Technical High School) Recruitment rules, 1980, in rules, 2, in clause (a), the words in Technical Drawing shall be deleted.
