Welcome From Your Teachers
Dear Parents,
Welcome to a new school year! Your child is on the Radiant Reds Team. Our seventh grade team consists of six teachers. Meet the team:
Frances Primm is the team’s science teacher and the 7th grade chair person. She has been at McClintock for twenty years and has been teaching for twenty-four years. She is a National Board Certified Teacher, and is the NAL coach and Student Council Advisor.
Hastie Chambers is the Radiant Reds’ team leader. She is in her fifth year as a teacher, and is beginning her fourth year teaching math at McClintock. She is from Myrtle Beach. Miss Chambers is also the cheerleading coach and assistant NAL coach here at McClintock.
Jenny Hunt moved from Ohio to teach language arts here at McClintock. She graduated from Taylor University in central Indiana with a major in English Education. She loves to read and run, and she is excited about working with MMS students this year.
Margaret Dalpe teaches social studies. After many years in the private sector, she is thrilled to share her first public school
year in CMS with our dynamic and talented McClintock students! She holds a
Master in Public Administration from Harvard where she concentrated in the
study of leadership and the mobilization of group resources. Her Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University in sociology and her work and
travels in the Middle East, northern Africa and Asia lend a personal perspective to her classroom studies and discussion.
Antoine Avinger is a math teacher and has been teaching for nine years. He comes from Laurinburg, NC. Mr. Avinger will assist in coaching football and other athletics.
Kalilah Kirkpatrick is a native of Matthews, NC where she attented Union County public schools. She furthered her education at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and received a degree in English. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys singing, dancing, and writing poetry. She is very excited about her first year at McClintock Middle School and joining the 7th grade Language Arts team!
Sharon Hoilett is a teacher in the Exceptional Children Department. She has been teaching for 10 years and has a Masters in Special Education. This school year, Mrs. Hoilett will teach 6th grade Study Skills, 7th grade Language Arts, and 8th grade Math.
All of the teachers want to express how pleased we are to have your child on our team. We are planning on a very successful school year. The 7th grade is a big step for students. We expect your child to be accountable for all of his or her actions in all aspects of school life. This can often be difficult, but we are willing to work with you and your child on this process. This will help your child’s transition from middle school to high school be much more successful. As a team we would be delighted to meet with you to discuss your child’s work and behavior. You must, however, schedule a conference through the guidance department. Ms. Waites is our team’s guidance counselor and she will be more than willing to assist you. We are available for conferences Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:15 - 2:00 . In special circumstances, other times may be arranged.
Once again, we would like to welcome you and your child! We are glad you are here! Feel free to call and leave a message or send an email if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
The Radiant Red Team
