Account Manager – B2B software sales
Job Description:
Commercial transportation companies across North America rely on Rand McNally’s MileMaker and Intelliroute software applications to provide their routing, mileage and mapping needs. Rand McNally’s historically robust truck-attributed road data set has compelled the majority of Fortune 500 shipper/manufacturers, Top 100 3PLs, and Top 100 Trucking companies to choose Rand McNally as their vendor of choice.
The Account Manager will be responsible for selling logistics software products using a variety of tools, databases and leads. Successfully meeting the revenue goal will require phone prospecting and occasional travel. New software developments for 2016 and desire in the industry for new offerings from Rand McNally will allow a steady stream of welcomed appointments and conversations with potential customers. The Account Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales in an entrepreneurial setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Achieve weekly and monthly activity and revenue goals
- Schedule and perform web-demos and conference calls
- Supply the Director of Sales with high-profile opportunities and potential industry partnerships
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of Windows and web-services industry software applications
- Manage and maximize Salesforce.com to report activity metrics and to maintain time efficiency
- Learn the commercial transportation business and understand industry trends
Ideal candidate:
- 0-2 years sales experience (experience a plus, but character is better)
- Has worked in a high-volume cold-calling environment; logistics/3pl/trucking industry is a plus
- Has displayed consistent ability to acquire new customers through cold-calls
- Ambitious to grow Rand McNally’s market share
- Agile in thinking, receptive to coaching and teachable
- Organized with time and schedule
- Desires to make an impact and facilitate exponential business growth
- Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- 4 year degree from a respected college/university
