MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was called to order at 6:31 pm. Minutes from November will be approved at Janurary meeting once they are posted on website.
OLD BUSINESS
Sponsorship/Fundraising Update
-large fundraising events (one each semester)
-Drive 4 Your School (Ford Talley) in the spring along with 5K and Springfest (individual teams)
-My School Bucks (Heartland) can be used for registration process
-advertising (shirts, mile markers)
-date will depend on track schedule
-need 3 committees (one for each)
Second Vice President Report on Concession
-pizza warmers needed
-requested popcorn machine for $300
-would like to offer teams 20% of sales to work concession on Sundays during the Hanover Youth Basketball games from November to February
-Tripp will email teams
Treasurer’s Report
The current balance for the General and Operating Accounts is $79,991.05. The team accounts have a balance of $61,363.25 which excludes football and track.
Athletic Director’s Report
-Athletic Department has $5,606.31
-spring sports start February 20th
Team Updates
Football –
Wrestling – The wrestling team came in first place at the Central Virginia Classic tournament. Andrew Anthony came in first place in the 170 pound weight class. The Lee-Davis Holiday Classic will be held at Lee-Davis on December 16th and 17th. This is a big fundraiser for the wrestling team as they will be going to Florida over winter break for the Knockout Holiday tournament.
Girls’ Basketball – Southern Classic will be December 29th and 30th. There will be a youth camp before the tournament.
Boys’ Basketball –
Cross Country/Track – Boys and girls made state meet.
Softball – winter workouts
NEW BUSINESS
Motion was made to pay for football staff to attend a football clinic. It was unanimously approved.
The next meeting is Wednesday, January 11, 2016, at 6:30 pm.
