The Kingdom of God Luke 11:14-20
1. The Kingdom was Initiated when Christ Came into the World
“If I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.”
2. The Kingdom of God is the Rule of God
Psalm 103:19, NKJV “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.”
Luke 17:20 “For you see, the kingdom of God is among you.”
The Kingdom was in their midst because the King was in their midst
3. The Kingdom of God is Invisible
Luke 17:20-21 “Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God will come, He answered them, ‘The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable; no one will say, Look here! or There!…”
John 18:36 "My kingdom is not of this world," said Jesus. "If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I wouldn't be handed over to the Jews…"
4. The Kingdom of God does not Originate from Earth
John 18:36 "My kingdom is not of this world," said Jesus… As it is, My kingdom does not have its origin here."
Matthew 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it.”
5. The Kingdom of God is Supernatural
John 3:5-6 “Jesus answered, ‘I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.’”
Colossians 1:13 “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves”
6. The Kingdom of God is Internal
Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
7. The Kingdom of God will One Day be External & Eternal
Revelation 11:15 “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign forever and ever!”
8. The Kingdom of God has Surpassing Value
Matthew 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure, buried in a field, that a man found and reburied. Then in his joy he goes and sells everything he has and buys that field.”
45-46 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he found one priceless pearl, he went and sold everything he had, and bought it.”
Lessons of the Kingdom:
· The Kingdom of God is bigger than any one person.
· The Kingdom of God is not dependant upon anyone on earth.
· There is only one Kingdom that counts; therefore, we should not try to build our own little Kingdoms.
· It is our job to conform to the Kingdom, not the other way around. We are subjects of the King.
