DISCOVERY & CUSTOMIZED EMPLOYMENT TRAINING SERIES

This six day training will introduce participants who are, or want to be, providers of Customized Employment services to the strategy of Customized Employment and process of Discovery for job seekers with significant barriers to employment. Customized employment means individualizing the employment relationship between employees and employers in ways that meet the needs of both. It is based on Discovery, an individualized determination of strengths, needs and interests of an individual with significant disabilities. Participants in this training will be supported to create an itinerary of Discovery and a use a Vocational Profile to capture, summarize and translate discovered information into a current picture of the job seeker across contexts. The training participant will be mentored to create customized employment that meets the needs of an individual with significant disabilities and the employer to create mutually beneficial employment relationships.

Preference will be given to participants from Hall, Whitfield, Clarke, and Walton Counties. Teams that include a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, educator and employment support professional working, with an individual student in one of the four counties are encouraged.
