CEDAR CANYON LUNCH “MEAL MAGIC” PROGRAM

HOW DOES THE MEAL MAGIC PROGRAM WORK?
The meal magic card works as a debit card. Your child’s card is debited the amount of their lunch each day as they purchase items in the cafeteria.
HOW MUCH IS A STUDENT LUNCH?
The price of a student hot lunch, which includes milk, is $1.70. Milk only is $.45.
CAN ANY STUDENT EAT BREAKFAST AT CEDAR CANYON?
Yes, the cost for breakfast is $1.35. Students who are car riders are escorted to the cafeteria at 7:30am and students who ride the bus go directly to the cafeteria to eat breakfast prior to going to class. No breakfast is served on a 2 hour delay day.
CAN I EAT LUNCH WITH MY CHILD?
Yes. However, you must send in a note in the morning with your student that indicates that you will be coming to lunch. And, since part of our lunches are made off site we ask that you indicate on the note how many additional lunches you will need. If you forget to send a note, you must call before 9:00am.
HOW MUCH IS AN ADULT LUNCH?
An adult lunch is $3.30.
CAN I BRING FOOD IN FOR MY CHILD AND ME TO EAT AT LUNCH?
Yes, you may bring in food from home for you and your child to eat. However, it is against school policy for commercial food to be brought into our cafeteria, so please save the fast food meals for the evenings or weekends.
WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T LIKE THE “MAIN COURSE”?
Yogurt or peanut butter sandwiches can be substituted for the “main course” upon request.
ARE ADDITIONAL ITEMS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE CAFETERIA?
Please note that students in grades 3-5 are allowed to purchase ala carte items in addition to (not instead of) a regular lunch.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I PUT IN MY CHILD’S ACCOUNT?
Our cafeteria requests a minimum check in the amount of $25.00, however, you are welcome to put as much in as you want.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY CHILD NEEDS MORE MONEY IN THEIR ACCOUNT?
When your child’s balance is below $10.00, a note will be sent home with your child informing you of their balance and that additional lunch money is needed. Also, you will get an e-mail, if you have one on file.
WHO DO I MAKE A LUNCH CHECK OUT TO?
Make meal magic deposits to “Cedar Canyon Elementary School”. It really helps us out if you put your child’s name in the memo, such as “Sally Smith-Meal Magic Deposit”
CAN I MAKE MY PAYMENT ON-LINE?
Yes. You can go online and make deposits, check and transfer balances and see account history. Online deposits can be credited to your students account the same day. There is a $2 fee for online deposits. We will accept Discover, MasterCard & Visa credit and debit cards. Parents can take advantage of the convenience of online account access at SendMoneyToSchool.com. You will need your students ID number to enroll. There is no fee to access account balances and/or history.
WHAT IF A DEPOSIT ISN’T MADE AND MY CHILD IS OUT OF LUNCH MONEY?
If your child runs out of meal magic account money, they will be given a free meal consisting of a cheese sandwich, fruit, vegetable and a carton of white milk for lunch.
WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS A BALANCE AT THE END OF THE YEAR?
The meal magic account balance will remain in your child’s account to use the next year. Even if your child changes schools within Northwest Allen, their lunch money goes along with them.
