Referees must know:
Puget Sound Soccer League matches should be played according to FIFA laws of the game, with the following exceptions/clarifications:
- All players must have current WSSA player cards, with league name "PSSL" or "UNLIMITED"
- Matches may be shortened (with equal-length halves) if teams are not ready to check in on time, in order to finish the match before the next scheduled match or before the field reservation ends
- Unlimited substitutions are allowed on any dead ball situation subject to the referee's discretion
- Referees must mail roster forms to the league after each game, along with player cards for any players sent off during the match
- SEND-OFFs must be reported using the misconduct forms on the referee website with authority "PSSL"
- CAUTIONs can be reported either online or by noting them on the roster forms
- Misconducts and match reports must be filed online within 48 hours of the end of the match
- Proper online reporting and mailing of rosters is required for referees to be paid
- Officials are expected to arrive AT LEAST 20 MINUTES PRIOR to match start time

League Rules

General
- All players must have a WSSA card. To obtain a card call 425-485-7855 or (allow extra time by mail).
- Each team will have minimum 10 games per season.
- There will be playoffs for the top 4 teams in each division.
- In the event that your opponent forfeits the game, you may receive an $80 refund.
- There will be three USSF licensed referees at every game. Should an official fail to show up, each team will receive a refund of $13.75.
- Gift Certificate Award for the leading goal scorer.
- T-shirt for the Goalkeeper with lowest average goals against.
Laws of the Game
- PSSL follows FIFA laws of the game, with one exception: the referee may allow unlimited substitutions at his discretion
Misconduct
- A player who receives three cautions will be suspended for one game.
- NEW: If a player is sent off as a result of two cautions in a game, only one caution will count towards the number of accumulated cautions used to determine a game suspension. He will of course be suspended separately because of the send-off.
- A player receiving a send off will receive a one game suspension, unless:
- the send off offense is due to foul/abusive language toward the referee, in which case they will be suspended for two games,
- the owners/directors of the PSSL decide the severity of the misconduct warrants additional game suspensions.
Playoffs
- After regular season of play, playoff teams will be decided by the following rules, sequentially, until all ties for the top four places are broken:
- Points (3 for a win, 1 for a tie)
- Head to head result
- Goal differential
- Fewest goals against
- Coin Flip
Only players appearing on your regular season rosters in at least one of the first eight games are eligible to play in the playoffs. Violation will result in forfeiture.
- Managers mustemail their playoff roster for approval prior to playoffs.
- If score is tied after 90 minutes of play, tie breaker will be two(2) - 10 minute golden goal overtime periods. If still tied after overtime, the game will be decided by kicks from the mark.
Stats & Awards
- Goalkeepers need to play six (6) games to be eligible for award.
- In case of a tie, the player whose team has the better record will receive the award.
- Soccer West awards a $75 gift Certificate, to the top goal scorer and top goalie of each division.
- Managers must email their goal scorers. League confirms with roster from referee.
