Installation of New Hydraulic Pump
Your hydraulic pump has been fully conditioned and load tested. It is part of our warranty terms that the hydraulic pump is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s relevant installation manual, and that our following recommendations are carried out.
- Always make sure that the hydraulic tank is thoroughly cleaned out (steam cleaned), and that all contamination is removed.
- Refill the hydraulic tank (we recommend using 68 Hydraulic oil).
- Install long-term 12 micron flushing filter and operate machine for 1,000 hours before returning to standard hydraulic filter (this only applies to a major failure of the hydraulic pump).
- Install Hydraulic Pump securing all suction and main pressure connections. Ensure that the return line back to the tank is free of any obstructions or restrictions.
- Make sure that the Hydraulic Pump is completely full of oil and purged of all air before starting the machine. To speed up the process, remove the plug from pump 1 and fill by hand. Repeat for pump 2. Once the oil is running out of both pumps, refit the plug and case drain fitting (tight). Fit the case drain pipe leaving it loose.
- Start machine on Low Idle for 3-5 minutes and let the air purge from the pump. Once oil is running clear, tighten case drain pipe.
- Increase engine RPM just enough to operate machine. Lift work equipment off the ground, operate arm out and in half way five times. Reduce RPM to tick over, return to return line hose and “crack” open and check for air.
- Tighten return line hose and run machine just enough to operate. Operate arm in and out on full strokes five times. Reduce RPM to tick over to go back to return line, “crack” pipe and check for air.
- Tighten back up return line hose and run machine on half RPM, operating all services. Run machine for 2-3 minutes. Reduce RPM to tick over crack return pipe and check for air. If all is okay, machine is ready for work. If air remains in the systems, repeat steps 7-9.
Should you experience engine pull-down under load, please perform the following checks:
- Ensure all fuel lines and filters are clean
- Check engine RPM. High idle under load—please refer to manual
